🌍 Interactive Damp Risk Map – How to Use It

This interactive map demonstrates how damp risk can be visualised across a housing portfolio. Each coloured dot represents a home, with its predicted damp risk shown as:

  • 🟢 Low risk (0–33%)

  • 🟡 Medium risk (34–66%)

  • 🔴 High risk (67–100%)

Beyond individual homes, the map also provides area-level insights:

  • Grid View – The city is divided into evenly sized grid squares (approx. 800–1200m). Each square is shaded to show the average risk of homes inside it, highlighting clusters of higher vulnerability.

  • Postcode View – A broader layer that groups properties by postcode-like areas. Each polygon shows the average damp risk and the percentage of homes at high risk.

🔎 How to explore

  • Use the layer control (top-right) to toggle between homes, grid averages, and postcode summaries.

  • Click on a dot to see details for an individual property (ID, risk score, band).

  • Click on a grid or postcode area to view the average risk, proportion of high-risk homes, and number of properties included.

  • Zoom in and out or pan across the map to focus on specific districts or clusters.

💡 Why it matters

This tool helps housing managers:

  • Quickly identify high-risk properties for inspection.

  • See hotspots of damp risk across neighbourhoods or districts.

  • Plan more efficient surveys and maintenance programmes by postcode or by high-risk grid clusters.
